Announced at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair, Schuco had a couple of models on display that really stood out from the crowd and made me stop every time I went past the stand. Due for release very soon, these beauties are as impressive in detail and finish as they are in size; they’re both huge. Both of these weigh around the 5kg mark, so they represent fantastic value for money if you’re shopping by weight!

The 1/18 Porsche Renntransporter is perfect for displaying with your 1/18 Porsche 917s, 908s etc., and the Dornier Do-X is, well, just perfect! We really like the stand that comes with the model because it is in the shape of one of the engines, but larger! Nice touch.

The racing car transporter is 55cm long and is available in three colour schemes: the Porsche factory version shown above right (SHU 00323), the Martini Racing version visible behind it, (SHU 00321) and the iconic John Wyer Gulf Racing colours, not shown, (SHU 00322). RRP will be £473.99, £486.99 and £549.99 respectively.

The 1929 Dornier Do X, the largest, heaviest and most powerful flying boat in the world at that time, was designed as a transatlantic passenger aircraft and was equipped with twelve radial engines. The model (photo below) is made of zinc diecast, is 55cm long and has a wingspan of 60cm. Price will be £295.99.
