Escorts with attitude

Already an extremely popular range of cars right across Europe, the launch of the second generation Ford Escort further enhanced the reputation of this classic small family car and featured much squarer styling than that of its predecessor. Although the L and GL models in both two and four door options would be the bread and butter cars for overall Ford sales numbers, the sporty RS Mexico and RS 2000 models clearly highlighted the fact that these cars possessed genuine motorsport credentials.

The Escort is no stranger to the scale diecast model collecting world, but collectors will be delighted to see that these new models of this second generation Escort RS 2000 are advancing towards release and should now start rearranging their displays in preparation for their arrival.

The models pictured are still pre-production sample models and as such, are still in development and subject to further alteration before they are released for production. Both models (VA14900 Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 Custom in Signal Yellow and VA14902 Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 X-pack in Venetian Red) are scheduled to arrive in the Spring, priced at £32.99 each.
