It’s Trains Galore at Special Auction Services

The annual Trains Galore auction on 17 and 18 December will comprise over 1000 lots of locomotives and railwayana, with estimates ranging from £60 to £7,000.

The top lot is a 5" Gauge LB&SCR Stroudley A1 Class 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive 'Brighton', of the famous 'Terrier' class, which carries an estimate of £6,000 – 7000.


The auction will include several private collections:
-    A collection comprising 121 lots of Gauge I Locomotives and rolling stock which were intended for use on a garden railway using battery power. Many were built by the vendor, to an excellent standard, and will be offered for sale with a total estimate of close to £60,000. Examples include a Gauge I Finescale Battery-electric LMS 4-6-2 'Princess' Class Locomotive and Tender estimated at £400-600 as well as beautifully finished Gauge I Finescale Battery-electric Midland Railway 4-4-0 'Compound' Locomotive and Tender which carries an estimate of £300-500. 
   
-    Part one of the property of an avid collector from Berkshire (Part Two will be offered in the Glorious Trains sale on 15 April 2020) has highlights which include a Roco N Gauge TEE VT Train and Coach Packs (estimate £120-140), a Minitrix N Gauge 11462 Train Set (estimated at £100-120), and a Minitrix N Gauge 11454 Train Set which is expected to fetch £90-110.

-    A single owner collection of ACE locomotives including ACE Trains E6 0 Gauge Class A3 BR green banjo-dome 60103 'Flying Scotsman' Locomotive and Tender (estimate £600-800) and an ACE Trains E6 0 Gauge Class A3 LNER green banjo-dome 2500 'Windsor Lad' Locomotive and Tender which carries an estimate of £500-700.

Other lots include a Liverpool Overhead Railway Poster, depicting the docks and railway estimated at £400-600, a cast iron alloy station sign for LMS Hawkeye Station Sign 'Low Gill', an enamel BR Southern Region Target Station Sign 'Robertsbridge' all have an estimate of £400-600.
