How Disney Cars Are Driving a New Generation of Collectors

In summer 2024, Nascar announced a new diecast product line with Disney Pixar’s Cars. And after seeing 20 rows of different liveries in B&M last week, I thought why have we not discussed this sooner?

Not only is it a new selection of diecast models for already avid collectors, but it will enable young fans of the franchise to dip their foot into the world of collecting, and who knows they may start a lifetime hobby in the process. This sent me on a dive into the world of diecast and I thought I would collate a selection of models that would be great to encourage the younger generation.

Disney Cars Diecast

Collaborating with Disney and Pixar creates an amazing opportunity to engage the next generation of collectors and race car fans. It introduces the world of diecast in a fun and familiar way.

Each vehicle is a 1:55 scale and has Nascar inspired designs, metallic body and rolling wheels. Every vehicle comes with a matching pit stop barrier for to add to your display! There is also a set available that comes with a 2-and-a-half-foot track modelled after the fictional LA racetrack.

As I said previously, you can buy these sets at B&M in the UK, but you can also buy these from an array of different websites including Mattel, Disney, The Entertainer and Amazon.

F1 Diecast Models

Formula One models have been released regularly for several years now, predominantly from brands Minichamps and Solido. As well as this, at the beginning of 2025 Hot Wheels teamed up with F1 to release a collection of F1 team cars.

Hot Wheels

Hot Wheels are a known brand amongst the younger generation, so to create Hot Wheels Formula 1 branded diecast cars draws in a large crowd to the world of diecast models. Many wouldn’t even look at Hot Wheels and connect them to idea of a diecast model, but in theory, children with collections of Hot Wheels have already started a hobby of collecting without even knowing it.

Paddington Bear

From the release of Paddington Bear 3, Corgi teamed up with Paddington himself to create two special diecast models based on classic London vehicles. A Routemaster Red London bus and a London black taxicab. Both feature adorable images of Paddington on the sides with a skyline of London alongside him. Every part of the model, has a small nod to the famous English bear, even down to the number plate!

By making all these models more accessible, for example displaying them in supermarkets, it means the younger generation are experiencing these models more and gives them a real chance to start their journey in collecting. Collecting is rather common among the younger generation already, it just happens to be things like trading cards, beauty products and vinyl. But hopefully by making diecast more accessible it will open doors to the younger generation of collectors.
