As a child bonfire night for my brother and I was the most exciting day of the year.

Having spent the month of October buying, playing and testing the fireworks, the big night could not come soon enough.

We once had a thriving British firework manufacturing industry, identifiable by blue touch paper and artwork that depicted the era.

My firework collection is now extensive and represents most UK manufacturers from the last century.

I am a “temporary” custodian of this historic collection.

I hope that one day a museum to display the history of this art and ethos of Guy Fawkes night will be established.

The wide-ranging variety of Fireworks produced means there are plenty to collect, multiples are put in to my shop counter display as I remember with my mother.
