Guernsey Post Office - Cinderella Miniature Sheet
Guernsey Post’s philatelic bureau announces the release of a limited-edition Cinderella miniature sheet celebrating Paul Revere, the Boston patriot and silversmith whose midnight ride became one of the defining moments of the American Revolution. The special sheet will be unveiled at the Boston 2026 World Stamp Show, the twelfth international philatelic exhibition of the United States, taking place 23-30 May, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
The miniature sheet celebrates the life and legacy of Paul Revere, with imagery reflecting his identity as both craftsman and patriot; references to his renowned Midnight Ride of 18 April 1775; and his celebrated silverwork, including pieces symbolic of political expression and resistance.
Revere’s links to Guernsey, where his father Apollos Rivoire trained as a silversmith, create a meaningful connection between the island’s artisan traditions and the flourishing cultural identity of colonial Boston. This shared heritage forms a fitting theme as the United States prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of its independence in 2026.
The sheet has been designed and engraved by internationally renowned artist Martin Mörck, who will attend the exhibition. It will be unveiled at an official ceremony on Saturday, 23 May, on the main stage, hosted by the United States Postal Service during the opening weekend of the show.
Bridget Yabsley, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post, said: “Having confirmed earlier this year that we would participate in the Boston 2026 World Stamp Show, we were delighted that the UPU kindly offered to represent Guernsey Post at this major international event. This created a unique opportunity to produce a special commemorative issue, although it meant working to a much tighter production window than usual.
“We were thrilled that renowned engraver Martin Mörck accepted the commission at short notice and collaborated closely with us to bring this commemorative design to life.
“Our stamp issues are usually planned at least 12 months ahead, which allows us to follow the full Royal Approval process. For this project, the condensed timeframe led us to produce a Cinderella miniature sheet - the first issued by Guernsey Post in more than 40 years. The miniature sheet will be released as a strictly limited edition of just 3,000, available exclusively at the Boston 2026 World Stamp Show. We expect it to become a highly prized souvenir for visitors and a sought-after piece for collectors worldwide.”
