The original Manchetts company was started in 1961, by George Manchett, mainly undertaking agricultural and machinery repairs, plus a small amount of motor fuel sales at what is now the company’s head office in Burwell, Cambridgeshire. The modern incarnation of Manchett’s is now a 4th generation family business and the group of companies encompasses everything automotive with car and commercial dealerships, an accident repair centre, vehicle hire and vehicle recovery.

To mark the occasion of Manchetts Recovery’s 60th anniversary, in 2021, the company commissioned much-respected truck model specialists, Search Impex, to replicate one of its heavy recovery trucks, a Volvo FMX (6x4) with registration AD19 ODK, in a limited edition run at 1/50 scale. Produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Models, each of the 255 models produced comes packaged in an eye-catching, bespoke window display box.
