Another chapter was written in the extensive racing history of Porsche's 911 design when a pair of Manthey-entered cars, wearing its green and yellow 'Grello' livery, put on quite a performance at the 46th running of the famed Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2018, a fine result - marking another success during Porsche's 70th anniversary year.

The fittingly numbered #911 car driven by Kevin Estre, Laurent Vanthoor, Earl Bamber and Romain Dumas had taken pole position, thanks to a blistering lap by Vanthoor, and Estre led the field away with the car comfortably in the lead for the early part of the event but an unfortunate accident, when Dumas was at the wheel, finished the car's race after 66 laps of the notoriously daunting 25.378km circuit. The race was eventually won by the team's #912 sister car, having covered 135 laps, after an epic duel in the closing stages with the pair of Black Falcon Mercedes-AMGs.

CMR's casting of this particular incarnation of Porsche's ubiquitous 911 racer is absolutely bang on, capturing the lines and stance perfectly. The application of the very complex livery is nothing short of astonishing, with the incredibly complex array of arrows and sponsor logos all present - the compound curves seemingly mastered with ease. The colours of this outstanding entry are totally correct too.

The only quibble is with the thickness of the main aerial as it's a little too heavy but this doesn't really detract from what is a truly marvellous model, especially at this price.
