Controversial card series from the 1960s estimated at a reasonable £80 to £120. ...
Well, it seems like there's a bit of Mars Attacks fever at the moment. After reporting last week that Nottingham-based miniature maker successfully reached the $50,000 target for its Mars Attacks boardgame Kickstarter in less than 15 minutes, we've now received word from Vectis Auctions that it's due to sell a full set of the original Mars Attacks bubblegum cards from the 1960s, along with a replica set from Renato Galasso from the 1980s.

The 1960s collection includes the first and last check list cards, while the remainder are in various condition; some have creases, cards five, 10 and 37 are in poor to fair condition, plus the check list is marked with ink pen. However, this is still a super opportunity to pick up the entire collection in one fell swoop. Currently the cards are estimated at £80 to £120, which isn't bad considering incomplete sets can sell for that... dependant on condition. What's more, the same lot includes the reprinted versions too.

The cards will be sold as part of Vectis' 24th October sale, which already includes a huge selection of Star Wars items. If this has whetted your appetite for Mars Attacks, make sure you check our gallery of the original Mars Attacks card series from the 1960s.
