With Donington Park having recently been sold and taken over by new owners, Motor Sport Vision, it is with sadness that we have to report that Barry Potter Fairs held its last event at the venue at the beginning of April.
It was a sad time, not just because it was one of the country's biggest fairs, but because it was many people's favourite. Other than an 18-month break from around mid 2009, when the then owners hoped to bring the British Grand Prix to Donington Park, the toy fair had been running for no less than 28 years.
On a positive note, the last fair was a great success, with a full house of stalls and a very good attendance. There is no doubt that Donington was given a good send off.
Barry said: “Although it is sad to see Donington go, there are other fairs people can attend. The NEC Birmingham, Stafford Showground and Doncaster Racecourse are all large fairs, none of which are a million miles from Donington and are all stronger and busier than ever. We look forward to welcoming many Donington followers to these fairs”.
