Derbyshire based promotional model vehicle specialist, Search Impex, is pleased to announce the release of a 1/50 scale Volvo FH3 Globetrotter XL (6x2) with 3 axle curtain trailer, customised in what has become known as Denby Transport’s stunning “Lincoln Lorry” livery.

Produced exclusively for Search Impex by WSI Collectables, the model is a certificated Limited Edition (155 pieces).  It is also a “Signature Series” release,  meaning that each individually numbered certificate has been signed, in person – in this case by Peter Denby (MD of Denby Transport) and also by The Very Reverend Philip Buckler (Dean of Lincoln).

Lincoln based Denby Transport is a long established family haulage business now run by present (and third generation) Managing Director, Peter Denby.  The “Lincoln Lorry” is the latest addition to the Company’s growing fleet and was conceived as a means of helping to support the Cathedral’s appeal for funds to enable restoration of the southwest turret. The Lincoln Lorry, (an ordinary working truck in all but appearance), was officially launched on 28th January 2013 and Denby Transport made a donation, per mile, for every mile the lorry travelled over its first 12 months in service.

For the project, a new panoramic photograph of the city was commissioned through local photographer, Dick Makin. The picture was taken on a sunny evening towards the end of 2012 and the city’s magnificent cathedral features prominently in the view.  Also featured above the city are the world famous Red Arrows who gave permission for their nine plane formation to be incorporated into the photograph. Based at nearby Scampton, the Red Arrows are often seen during the summer months practising their skills over the Lincoln skyline.

With its very English cathedral, its castle and its quaint medieval streets, not to mention a good variety of places to eat, drink and stay, Lincoln is often claimed to be one of the best small cities in Europe.  And now, thanks to Denby Transport, its iconic cathedral, as well as the wider city, are on tour throughout the UK & Europe.

Models, available from Search Impex, are priced at £140 each (including UK delivery & VAT).  For details of availability of this and other models, collectors can visit the Search Impex website at www.search-impex.co.uk or call on 01332 873555.
