ModelZone administration sees stores closing across the country, with 66 redundancies. ...
Deloitte, the administrator for failed hobby retailer ModelZone, has confirmed that a further 10 stores will close next week - after it failed to find a buyer for the locations. Five branches will close on 10th August, with another five to follow just three days later - 66 staff members will sadly lose their jobs.

Stores closing on 10th August include: Bluewater, Hull, Leicester, Doncaster and Cardiff - the latter is the largest of those shops and employs 10 people. This will be followed by closures at Ipswich, Romford, Meadowhall in Sheffield, Leeds and Swansea.

A statement from Deloitte said: "The joint administrators to Modelzone are still trying to find a potential buyer for some or all of the stores. Unfortunately to date no such purchaser has come forward."

Meanwhile, Amerang the wholesale division of the ModelZone Group, which was sold as a going concern to radio-controlled model wholesaler Ripmax, has confirmed it has moved stock to a new warehouse and will start shipping outstanding and new orders.
