Almost 50 years after the first World Cup Panini sticker album was released, an original book was put up for auction recently - in pristine condition and including all 271 cards!
If you thought that was impressive enough, this copy came with something extra special… it had been signed by the one and only Pele. This might go some way to explaining the initial estimate of £5,000!
The Brazilian football legend had added his signature to the front cover of the album and the on the cards of his photo among his teammates. Brazil famously won the tournament with Pele scoring the opening goal in the final against Italy.
Online auction website Catawiki is putting the extremely rare album up for auction in March and after some frenzied bidding the album sold for an incredible £10,450.
