Star Wars collectors will be well catered for at East Bristol Auctions’ Toy Collectors sale next month. A collection of over seventy original carded figures has just been consigned. Auctioneer Andrew Stowe says “It’s the single most impressive collection of Star Wars figures I’ve ever seen. They really are ‘out of this world!”

The figures, all consigned by a private collector from Bath, feature some of the most sought after figures – including a mint condition Yak Face figure. Andrew adds: “Many of the figures are in incredible condition, not just mint, but ex-shop-stock mint. The Yak Face in particular is the best example we’ve ever seen. It’s as fresh as the day it was made!”

Also included is a mint Boba Fett carded figure, a Walrus Man and nearly a full set of the famous ‘Last 17’ line (the final seventeen figures produced by Kenner before they were discontinued).

The collector, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased many of the figures back in the 1980s when they could be found in shop bargain bins and discount baskets, but also went on to buy them in the 1990s when prices had already started to rise. “That’s the incredible thing with Star Wars,” added Andrew, ‘the value. I’ve just catalogued a figure at £300-500 that comes with its original £1.49 price sticker!”

The extensive collection goes under the hammer on Saturday 27 July. The fully illustrated catalogue will be uploaded online two weeks prior, and can be viewed via East Bristol’s website www.eastbristol.co.uk.
