Nuremberg had plenty to offer farm model collectors and there were several surprise model announcements.

Weise-toys, who in recent years has built a reputation for its classic tractor models, had the prototype for its first modern tractor based on Claas’s new Xerion 4000 tractor. A Deutz-Fahr Agrotron 6180P is also planned. These modern tractors are a major direction change for the firm but classic tractor fans are not forgotten as weise-toys also plans two MB-trac tractors and a Deutz-Fahr tractor.  Release dates are yet to be announced.

This year Universal Hobbies has not added any models to its 1/43 agricultural range and only a Renault D22 and Ford 5000 with cab to its 1/16 scale range. There is a large expansion to its 1/32 farm range with the 2014 catalogue listing 28 new items. The list includes 16 modern and classic tractors from many common tractor brands. For collectors the release of the David Brown 1490, Case 1594 and Case International 1490 tractors, which are still being developed, will be of particular interest. The equipment releases this year are dominated by models of Amazone and Kuhn equipment. They include a plough, a cultivator, drills and a fertiliser spreader.

At the show Universal Hobbies also had the prototypes for a new Valtra S series tractor and a special edition Case IH Puma Platinum 230.  Although neither model had arrived in time to be included in the 2014 catalogue, Universal Hobbies expected they would be available in June.

USK Scalemodels had a sample of its new limited edition Challenger ‘Blackhawk’ MT775E tractor it had produced for Challenger. It also had the prototype for a special edition Challenger ‘Anaconda’ MT975E which it expects to ship in April or May.

For those looking for classic John Deere tractors, Schuco announced it would be releasing its John Deere 3120 fitted with a cab and a dual wheeled version of their John Deere 7810. Also there will be an early John Deere 4755 with bonnet mounted exhaust and air cleaner. Other 1/32 tractor releases include a Fendt 211 with front loader, a Forschritt ZT 303 with dual rear wheels, a Deutz-Fahr 9340TVV and a Schluter Compact 1350 tractor. The latter two models being newly tooled.

Alongside a Steyr 80 tractor, its only 1/87 farm model this year, Wiking has several 1/32 model releases planned for 2014. The first models, a Claas Lexion 770 combine, a Claas Arion 650 tractor with front loader, a Valtra N123 tractor also with front loader and a Strautmann forage wagon will be available in the spring.  Release dates for the other models that include a John Deere 6125R with front loader, updated Fendt 939, Krampe trailer, Fliegl trailer and Fliegl vacuum tankers are to be announced. The main 1/32 tractor releases from sister company Siku are scheduled for the autumn. A Lindner Unitrac, a Deutz-Fahr 730TVV, a special edition Case IH Magnum 340 and a new John Deere 7R tractor will be added to their range.

Finally, Britains had two new tractor models on display; the JCB Fastrac 3230 and the John Deere 3650, which should both be available in the shops for around £20 immediately after the show.

At Nuremberg, Britains was showing this new JCB Fastrac 3230 tractor, which should be available in the shops for around £20 immediately after the show.

Britains' other new model is this John Deere 3650, also in the shops imminently, at the same price as the JCB model.

Limited to 777 models, USK Scalemodels' black Challenger ‘Blackhawk’ MT775E, produced for Challenger, should be available from Challenger’s website or dealer network in March. Its price is to be announced.

Hitting the shops in March is Wiking’s excellent new Claas Lexion 770 combine. It comes with V1200 table and header trailer.

Siku adds this smart John Deere 7R tractor with working front loader to its remote-control range in the autumn.

This edition of Replicagri’s new Claas Markant 65 baler is available from Claas only, but another version will be released later.

For many, the star agricultural tractor at the show will have been this early prototype for weise-toys’ Claas Xerion 4000 tractor. Weise-toys will be releasing both ST and VC versions and they are expected to cost around £74.00.

For 2014, Schuco’s John Deere 7810 will be available with dual wheels fitted on both front and rear axles.

This Holder EDII single axle tractor is an interesting addition to Schuco’s 1/32 farm range. It is available fitted with either a two-wheel trailer or a single furrow plough.

One of the Kuhn implements to be added to Universal Hobbies' 1/32 farm range is this Kuhn TT 3500 trailed drill. Other Kuhn equipment to be released is the Maxima 2 RX precision drill, the MDS 19.1 fertilizer drill and the EL 162 rotavator.

Universal Hobbies' models of the Lamborghini Nitro 130 T4i and Hurlimann XM 120 T4i tractors are expected to be released in May or June.  The models will also be available in Deutz-Fahr branding.
