Winning item will be entered into the National Collection ...
The National Railway Museum is looking for nominations to find the nation's favourite railway-related character, toy or model that children and adults have most loved playing with - whether past or present. The winning item will be entered into the National Collection, where it will be preserved as part of the country's history. Of course, our money is on some sort of Thomas the Tank Engine toy being chosen but you never know, Chuggington could have a surge of popularity.

To enter your nomination, just send an email to [email protected] using the subject 'Nation's favourite toy', briefly describing what you think should be preserved and why. If you have images of yourself with your toy then include these too, so NRM can share them. Perhaps don't send that embarrassing one of you in your Thomas the Tank pyjamas clutching models of Annie and Clarabel though.

If you're the person who convinces NRM to preserve your own favourite, you'll be invited to a special ceremony where the item will take pride of place in the museum's collection. You can also enter by sending a letter to Press Office, National Railway Museum, Leeman Road, York, YO26 4XJ – but please include contact details in case you are the winner.
