The superb National Festival of Railway Modelling will be held this year over the weekend of the 19 & 20 October 2013 at Peterborough Arena, East of England Showground. The show is organised by Warners Shows, British Railway Modelling Magazine, RMweb and run in conjunction with the Market Deeping Model Railway Club. Railway modellers, enthusiasts and collectors from up and down the country are expected to visit the show over the course of the weekend to see the impressive selection of layouts, exhibitors and demonstrations on display!

This years’ show will play host to 30 layouts in a broad variety of gauges and scales, including the stunning Cliffhanger (OO9), Black Country Blues (EM), Happisburgh Goods (O), Warren Lane (OO) and Chillingbourne (OO). Many have appeared in the pages of British Railway Modelling Magazine and have been hand-picked for their modelling excellence. 

In addition to this, the show will also feature 80 exhibitors. From major manufacturers including Bachmann, Hornby and Dapol to specialist exhibitors selling hard to source items there will be a wide range of modelling items for sale including tools, kits, parts, memorabilia and more.

After a massively successful launch in 2012, the British Railway Modelling Village will return to the Peterborough show. This must see area which will bring the magazine British Railway Modelling to life will include an interactive  stand, complete with iPads that will allow visitors to view websites and digital magazines, meet the team, modelling theatres and a ‘Practical BRM Zone’ with modelling demonstrations and tips.

Pre-booking for The National Festival of Railway Modelling is now open until 9.00am on Friday 11th October. By booking tickets in advance visitors can beat the queues and enter the event half an hour early where they will have first pick of the bargains on offer or prime position near a ‘must see ‘layout.  A Showguide will be on offer to visitors costing £1.00 however, those that book their tickets in advance will receive the guide free of charge. Tickets for the show cost Adults £10.00, Children £4.50 with BRM subscribers receiving a £1.00 discount. 

The show opens 10.00am each day, closing at 5.00pm on Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday, with pre-booked ticket holders admitted from 9.30am both days. A FREE shuttle bus will run between Peterborough railway station and the venue, plus there is FREE car parking on-site.
