Limited edition Volkswagens from Revell due in September

Although we normally associate the Revell name with plastic kits - did you know it also produces a wide range of pre-built diecast models? Actually, if you read the comprehensive history of Revell in the May issue of Collectors Gazette, we're sure that's probably common knowledge. Anyway, the reason for this slightly convoluted introduction is that we've just heard from John Ayrey that Revell is planning to release a series of special pre-built models this September.

Of course, being a German company, it should probably come as no surprise to hear that Revell is re-producing a German car - the Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk4. The replica will be available in three different colours - blue, black and silver - and has been modelled in 1/18 scale. Currently the RRP is expected to be £54.99. Each will be limited to just 700 pieces, making them extremely collectable.
