As we are sure you are all aware by now, Lego celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. And the very first retailer in the UK to stock those famous little bricks, Osborne’s in Rushden for those keeping track, was chosen to mark the occasion in a somewhat unusual fashion… by transforming its entire shop frontage into a Lego replica. Everything that you can see in the picture above is made of Lego – the blue brick walls, the drain pipes, the front door and even the letter box. To carry on the theme, Osborne’s also created window displays using original sets, merchandise and advertising material. Owner Will Osborne explains: “Lego approached us directly to see if we were interested, and then a team from the Czech Republic manufactured all the pieces ready for them to be fitted to the shop. It really is impressive when you think that it’s all made from Lego bricks!” Yes, it certainly is!
