We've got an awesome new collectable for fans of Japanese animation today, with the first images of Kotobukiya's sublime Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Tachikoma model kit, as revealed on Kotobukiya's Facebook page. The 1/35 scale replica measures 65mm by 85mm and is due for release in April 2014, here's hoping that Kotobukiya's UK distributor Amerang picks up this top piece.

The miniature mech comes with figures of Ghost in the Shell characters Motoko Kusanagi and Batou, plus accessories. There's also the addition of a rear hatch that opens up, allowing you to place the Kusanagi figure inside and poseable limbs - ensuring there are plenty of display options!

For those not aware of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, it's a very successful Japanese animation series based on the 1989 comics and 1995 animated film. The Tachikoma are spider-like robots with artificial intelligence that exhibit rather childish personalities. Check out the pictures below to get a glimpse at this spectacular model... April can't come soon enough!
