One of the most anticipated releases for 2015 isn't strictly new because it's the classic Corgi Toys Aston Martin DB5, which is being re-released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original.

The model itself is complete with all the features found in the original, such as the famous ejector seat that would invariably shoot bad guys into the sky before being lost under the floorboards forever, the revolving number plate, hidden machine guns and bullet proof shield. We even got to try out the ejector seat and can confirm it's just as powerful as ever.

To get the inside scoop on this new release, we spoke to Darrell Burge from Hornby Hobbies who revealed the first shipment has already sold out! Make sure you watch the video below to find out more about this great diecast model.

Also, we asked Darrell if this meant that Corgi might look at re-issuing some of its other classic TV and film releases… after all 2016 would be the 50th anniversary of the iconic Adam West Batmobile. Darrell said Corgi is looking at previous licenses, however, any new product must now be weighed against the licensing costs - which are likely to be a bit more than back in the '60s.

Finally, another tidbit from Darrell is that Corgi has just signed a deal to produce models based on the Aston Martin DB10 from the upcoming Bond film, Spectre… exciting stuff!
