It's going to be another very exciting year for fans of Hot Wheels Elite models!

Before we left for Germany, we all had theories as to what would take pride of place on this year's Hot Wheels stand. Our guesses were the Back to the Future De Lorean, a Ferrari racing car and the VW "Herbie" Love Bug. As we walked into the hall it was clear that we were all wrong as it was a "James Bond" Aston Martin DB5!

This was to announce a new deal which will see various vehicles from the successful film franchise modelled in years to come, but what better way to start than the most iconic of all 007's transports, the "Goldfinger" DB5. This will initially be produced in 1/18 and 1/43 scales, with the former featuring all sorts of legendary "Q" gadgetry.

While we were still catching our breath, we were introduced to many more incredible new releases; the Ghostbusters "ambulance" with a brand new set of four figurines, a new version of the Knightrider "K.I.T.T." with lights and sounds aplenty, Herbie and a host of other excellent models, including a new 1/18 tooling prototype of Niki Lauda's Ferrari 312T from the 1976 Formula 1 season (my favourite here!).

Don't forget to buy a copy of the April issue of Diecast Collector, due out 3rd March, for more news on the Hot Wheels releases from the International Toy Fair!
