Indiana Jones' Whip Sells for £20,000 at Christies Images

The original hand-made bull-whip used by Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) has sold for £20,000 in Christies' Pop Culture sale, which included a host of amazing TV and film memorabilia.

Among the other Indiana Jones items was a rare prop facsimile manuscript book known as the 'Grail Diary' used in the Last Crusade, approximately one hundred and fourteen pages, of which twelve blank, bound in calf leather, pages and cover edges deliberately rubbed and aged, contained within the pages of the book a prop train ticket Pacific Electric Ry. Cash Fare and Joint Ticket and a prop U.S. dollar bill attached to one of the pages. The Grail Diary realised £18,750.

From there same film there was an equally famous prop - the Holy Grail that gives the user eternal life, although Christies gave it the rather lacklustre description of : "a prop chalice, the clay cup painted in gilt and red and applied with plaster and mud to simulate distress". It sold for £11,875, which is cheap if you consider it'll help you live forever.
