Here's something very, VERY exciting for Star Wars fans because Hot Wheels' UK distributor Amerang has confirmed that four Star Wars spaceships will be added to the Elite range of highly detailed diecast models throughout 2015 and 2016. Admittedly, details are thin on the ground at the moment but we know that the spaceships will be 15cm long and will have opening features and attachable landing gear, along with a display stand. To say we're excited is a little bit of an understatement.

So far the ships confirmed are as follows:

X-Wing Fighter, release date: September 2015, price: £89.99
TIE Fighter, release date: October 2015, price: £89.99
Millennium Falcon, release date: November 2015, price: £89.99
The Force Awakens New Starship, release date: March 2016, price: £89.99

With the Nuremberg International Toy Fair just around the corner in January, we can only hope there'll be more details and perhaps even some pre-production models on display in Germany.

Also in the announcement is news that Hot Wheels is planning a 1/18 scale version of the James Bond Spectre Aston Martin DB10 in March 2016 (RRP £189.99), while the new Batman V. Superman 1/18 scale Batmobile will be launched in December 2015 (RRP £169.99). Both of these will have opening doors, boot and a hood to reveal a detailer interior and engine.
