Hot Wheels Elite One range due for release in August Images
A new initiative for Hot Wheels is the Hot Wheels Elite One range. The 1/50 scale replicas are a mix between Hot Wheels' standard toys for children and the more detailed vehicles in the Elite series. Although not made of diecast - they're actually plastic - they're definitely a step above your typical children's toy thanks to the attention to detail and, in some cases, the addition of to-scale toy figures.

We originally saw some prototypes of the first four models in the new range at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, which can see if you watch our exclusive video but, at that point, details were scarce about the release date and prices. Well, we've finally got the details from Hot Wheels and the initial batch of Elite One replicas will be released with an RRP of £9.99. You can read more about each of the four pieces below - the descriptions are taken from the Hot Wheels website.

The legendary Mystery Machine is the vehicle used by Scooby-Doo! and The Gang. Scooby-Doo is a classic Hanna Barbera animated property that entertains fans of all ages. Scooby, everyone’s favorite Great Dane with a voracious appetite, travels with his four teenage companions Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy. Together, the Gang is known as Mystery, Inc. and uses The Mystery Machine to investigate mysterious happenings and paranormal events. Both easily frightened, Scooby and Shaggy would rather cozy up with a snack instead of solving mysteries, but with the help of the Gang and their meddling ways, they always solve the mystery. The Mystery Machine comes complete with non-removable Scooby-Doo and Shaggy figures.

The famous Flintmobile is the prehistoric vehicle featured in The Flintstones, the first animated situation comedy shown on primetime television in America, which debuted in 1960 and ran for six seasons. This famous series tells the story of two working-class families in the Stone Age. Fred and Wilma Flintstone and their best friends, Barney and Betty Rubble, are neighbors who have prehistoric adventures with their children, dinosaurs and other strange fantasy animals.

The extremely high-tech flying vehicle The Bat from the 2012 blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises is piloted by Batman. As midnight tolls in Gotham City, evildoers begin carrying out their dark deeds. With a sudden whoosh, The Bat sweeps down on the crime scene and rounds up the villains. It flies off into the night and Gotham City is safe once more! The Bat features authentic details and a display stand to simulate flight.

The fantastic 458 ITALIA is the result of an uncompromising design approach that integrates styling and aerodynamic technology. The Pininfarina design features compact, sleek lines, underscoring the concepts of performance-oriented efficiency that inspired the project. For the first time the engine is a dry-sump 90 degree V8 with a displacement of 4449 cc and is mid-rear mounted. It is a completely new design, engineered to reach a maximum of 9,000 rpm – a first on a road car – with a high 12:5:1 compression ratio and maximum power output of 570 CV. The modular chassis is an all-new design and helps keep weight down for superior performance and handling. The 458 ITALIA has proven to be one of the most popular models in the Elite line.
