Hot Wheels Elite Gives a Sneak Peak of Cult Classics Cars Images

Hot Wheels Elite has sent over pre-production images of models from its upcoming additions to the Cult Classics range, including K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider and the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Both replicas will join the popular range, which also features other famous movie cars like Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters and the A-Team van.

Knight Industries Two Thousand, better known as K.I.T.T. the original smart car is a black, customized 1982 Pontiac Trans Am which was made famous in the TV series Knight Rider. Seen as the ultimate crime-fighting tool, K.I.T.T. comes equipped with artificial intelligence, infrared sensors, flame throwers, lasers, smoke bombs and a 50ft turbo-boost known as 'Super Pursuit Mode'... although don't expect all this on the replica. The model comes in two different scales: 1/18 and 1/43.

Alongside K.I.T.T., Hot Wheels is also releasing the DMC-12 from Back to the Future in 1/43 scale. Although the DeLorean was featured in numerous '80s TV shows and films, it became iconic as Doc Brown's time machine in the Marty McFly trilogy. As you can see from the pre-production shots, the replica features the various time-travelling equipment at the back of the vehicle, including the flux capacitor.

There is currenly no release date for either car.
