There’s great news for TV and film collectors as Hot Wheels Elite has announced the latest additions to its Cult Classics Collection range of models.

Making their debut at the Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair 2012, held in early February, were pre-production samples of KITT, star of the ‘Knight Rider’ series, the Bat-Pod from the upcoming ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ film and the Time Machine from the ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy.

KITT is a black customized 1982 Pontiac Trans Am driven by former police officer turned private eye, Michael Knight. The original ‘super car’, KITT is fully equipped with artificial intelligence, flame throwers and lots more. Hot Wheels Elite’s model will be available in both 1/18 and 1/43 scale.

The Bat-Pod is a motorcycle-ATV hybrid that was custom-made for ‘The Dark Knight’. As you would expect from Batman’s runaround, its features include a rotating saddle, grappling hooks, cannons and machine guns. It will be available in both 1/18 and 1/43 scale.

In the ‘Back to the Future’ trilogy, Doc Brown managed to create a time machine out of a De Lorean DMC-12. Hot Wheels Elite will be releasing a 1/43 scale model of the De Lorean.

Visitors to the fair were also able to have a first glimpse of the new Ghostbusters Ecto-1a from ‘Ghostbusters II’, both in 1/18 and 1/43 scale, and the highly detailed 1/43 scale Batmobile from ‘Batman’.

These new models will be released later in the year. See future issues for more details.
