FREE 32 page catalogue inside every issue! Images

Who doesn’t like a freebie? This month we have teamed up with our friends at Hattons and there is a free 32 page catalogue inside every issue! There’s never been a better time to add to your collection.

Elsewhere in the issue, we celebrate the British institution that is Land Rover. From those early experiments 70 years ago on the beach at Anglesey was born a new genre of motor car and a brand that has survived the darker days of British Leyland to now be seen as aspirational and market leading. To celebrate this important milestone, we take a look at the very best 1/43 scale models of the original Series 1 Land Rover, and in particular of the very first prototype  - HUE 166.

How many of your Dinky Toys collection are made of something other than mazac? We tell the story of how some famous Dinkies were made of Aluminium instead, and show you how to spot those that are.

We also tell the story of the Jensen Freighter – an unusual commercial vehicle made by the famous Jensen works. This particular Freighter was commissioned by the Gordon microcar company and would pull a trailer that in conjunction with its extended load bed could carry 11 cars! We also show you how a scale replica of this amazing vehicle was constructed at home.

The AEC Q bus was a highly innovative design for the 1930s, with its modern enclosed body and engine mounted just behind the front wheel. You can learn all about this “magnificent failure” and the superb Corgi models of it in this issue.

Jaguar have made some of the best looking cars the world has ever seen, including some iconic sports cars. From the XK120, through the E-Type to the XJS and onto the modern XK8 to the current F-type, Jaguar’s sports cars have always been a draw for diecast model makers. We showcase the finest 1/43 scale examples.

All this plus the latest news from the world of diecast models, our round up of auction results and 11 pages of new model releases – no other UK magazine reviews more!
