To celebrate the popular manufacturer's 175th anniversary, ERTL will be releasing three 1/16 scale John Deere Collector Edition models later in the year.

In 1837, John Deere, a blacksmith and inventor from Grand Detour, Illinois USA, had an idea that would help farmers and change the face of agriculture: he developed the first commercially successful, self-scouring steel plow. 175 years later and the John Deere name is recognisable across the globe as one of the most succesful and well loved agricultural manufacturers.

The models, which are due for release later in the year, include a silver chrome plated Model 60, which represents the one millionth tractor produced by John Deere. Also available will be a gold chrome plated 4440, which represents John Deere's two millionth tractor.
