We interview the man behind the 007 collection and find out why he's decided to sell. ...
Daryl Burchmore has (or rather had) arguably one of the great James Bond collections in the country featuring hundreds of 007 items, such as Lone Star guns, Corgi cars, and film memorabilia - plus more unusual pieces like bubble bath and imported plastic kits from Japan. He has been collecting Bondonailia (a phrase we've just coined) since 1979 when he got his first job and spent all his spare cash on anything bearing the Bond name.

However, after more than 30 years Daryl has decided it's time to sell because the collection has taken over his house... much to the annoyance of his wife. It includes many rare items and he is hoping it'll bring a lot of joy to other Bondonalia (see, it's catching on) enthusiasts. As such, the collection will be sold later this year at Vectis Auctions but before it was packed up and put it storage until the sale in September, we met up with Daryl at the Yesterday's World museum in Battle where dozens of his pieces where on display as part of a special Bond exhibition.

Also, make sure you keep checking Collectors Club of Great Britain to get the pre-sale estimates on the pieces and pick up the July issue of Collectors Gazette to read more about Daryl's favourite items and see the auctioneer's top picks of lots to look out for in the sale.
