2013 has been a fantastic year for collecting. Over the past 12 months we've seen some amazing new releases, plenty of impressive auction results and we've filmed at numerous auctions and toy fairs. So, just in case you've missed any of the excellent coverage on Collectors Club of Great Britain, over the festive period we're going to round-up some of the best content... it's a bit like an advent calendar but with interesting stories instead of rubbish chocolate. Rare unopened pack of James Bond DB5s smashes pre-auction estimates

Rare vintage Star Wars Jawa sells for £10,200 at Vectis Auctions
Vectis has finally sold the exceptionally rare vinyl cape Jawa that has been causing a stir among Star Wars collectors. After making appearances in the national newspapers, online and even on BBC Breakfast, it's safe to say there was certainly a lot of excitement in the room during Vectis' TV and film sale on October 24th. s the price for vintage Star Wars action figures continues to rise - just look at our previous story about the rare Palitoy vinyl cape Jawa, which sold for £10,200 - the temptation for unscrupulous types to try and cash-in on this interest also increases. Dinky Omnisport A40 fails to sell at auction
An extremely rare Dinky Omnisport A40 van has failed to sell at auction after it didn't meet its reserve. The model was estimated at £2,500 to £3,000 and bidding was going well at Adam Patridge Auctioneers in Liverpool between an interested buyer in the room and one on the phone. However, as the hammer hovered over £2,350, the telephone bidder chose not to carry on, bringing the proceedings to a premature conclusion. READ MORE...

Hot Wheels Elite has followed up its previous 1/43 release of the Back to the Future Time Machine with a slightly reworked model. Now, here's a perfect example of a hidden gem on eBay... on the 25th November a vendor listed the following on eBay: "Shopkeepers (rare)Box original Dr Who with 71 Darlek [sic] Rolykins". Bidding kicked off at just 99p, however by the end of that day the bidding had quickly escalated to £685. READ MORE...
