Britains and ModelZone have teamed up for a special event to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Dambusters. From 10am until 2pm on 11th May visitors to the ModelZone store in Birmingham will have an exclusive opportunity to see a pre-production version of Britain's upcoming Dambusters figures, along with the chance to view a set of letters from members of the Dambusters raid sent to a schoolboy in the 1970s. The letters give an outstanding first hand insight into these brave heroes.

Britains UK brand manager Malcolm Watson will also be on-hand to talk about 'RAF 617 Squadron - The Dambusters 70th Anniversary Commemorative Set, 1943', which is due for release in June. The model - which is limited to just 750 pieces - depicts Guy Gibson and his crew boarding their Avro Lancaster before heading to Germany for the daring mission. It's based on a famous photograph taken just moment before the crew took off. Alongside this stunning piece of work, Britains is also releasing an individual figure of Air Marshall Sir Arthur 'Bomber' Harris and another commemorative set featuring Fighter Command - RAF Pilot 1943 with Faithful Companion (also known as a dog) - both of these are due for release in July.

Finally, the ModelZone event will also include a period RAF re-enactor who can talk visitors through Operation Chastise and give an insight into the period. If all this sounds right up your street, then make sure you head to 89-90 Bull Street, Birmingham, B4 7AA on 11th May between 10am and 2pm.
