The Toy Boat Collection, belonging to the late Jeff Russell, will be one of the main attractions at C&T Auctions sale this October.
Featuring many rare items, this collection includes many tinplate and plastic boats as well as big name manufacturers such as Sutcliffe and Arnold.
Highlights include as Sutcliffe Meteor, circa 1932, which is expected to make £150 to £250; a Sutcliffe Bluebird Speed Boat, circa 1960, with an estimate of £70 to £100; and an Arnold (Germany) tinplate clockwork submarine. With its original box, this post war example has been given a guide price of between £200 and £300.
It’s not all fun on the high seas though! Bringing us back to dry land are two superb Corgi Toy collections, coming from France and the UK. Highlights in this section of the auction include No.246 Chrysler Imperial, in kingfisher blue; a 1st issue No.267 Batmobile; Gift Set No.6 VW & Cooper Maserati; Gift Set No.13 Renault 16; TS Tour de France Gift set.
The final collection going under the hammer is one concentrating on buses. Still in the process of being catalogued the collection has treasures including Tri-ang, Chad Valley, and Sun Star.
