Bachmann has released the eagerly awaited OO Gauge Midland Pullman, as part of its Branchline series of models. The new model was launched outside Aintree Racecourse to commemorate the fact that in 1964 and '65, the Blue Pullman worked race-goers charter trains to the home of the Grand National.

The six car model, based on the iconic train, has lots of great features including: directional lighting, etched fan grilles, highly detailed under frame equipment, coach ceiling lighting and table lamp lighting. Both power cars are driven with a new style dedicated close coupling concept, giving less than 1mm running gap (on straight track).

Available as 31-255DC in Nanking Blue livery and 31-256DC in Nanking Blue livery with yellow ends, both models are supplied with a DCC decoder already fitted (one in each power car)
. To watch a video of the locomotive in action, head on over to Model Railways Live.
