Rare unopened trade pack of James Bond's DB5 smashes all pre-auction estimates. ...
Earlier today, the auction we featured last week of the rare unopened trade pack of 6 Corgi James Bond Aston Martin DB5 models closed at a whopping £5,500! This was £2,000 over the highest estimate given by C & T Auctioneers. C & T's vintage toy expert, Glen Chapman, was unavailable for comment as other items are still being auctioned, but I'm sure he will be absolutely delighted with the result.

The pack contains six examples of Corgi's 261 Aston Martin DB5 modelled on the car used by James Bond in "Goldfinger". Still sealed as a full pack of six, it includes the rare instruction leaflet for retailers, advising them that "the instructions are packed in the compartment in the base of every inner display stand, please make sure that every young purchaser realises this". The leaflet contains the instructions in five different languages and is in perfect mint condition.

With individual mint examples of this model usually valued at £350 to £400, according to Ramsay's Guide, I think it's safe to say that this pack will always remain unopened!
