The latest releases from French manufacturer Altaya are proving extremely popular, with over 50 models in its ranges of aviation and military craft.
Its aviation models, which are part-works originally designed for magazine distribution, are a mixture of diecast and plastic – the fuselage is diecast while the wings are plastic.
With models available in two scales, 1/72 and 1/443, there really is something for everyone, particularly if you are on a budget.
The latest model in the aviation range is the English Electric Lightning F Mk.6 RAF, which features an interchangeable undercarriage and weapon loads. It is priced at £20.
The newest recruits in Altaya’s military range, which are all in 1/72 scale, include a 1055mm HMC Priest 1st Armoured Division, El Alamein, Egypt 1942. Priced at £17, it is ideal for both a seasoned collector and someone new to the hobby.
Both models are available to buy from Jumblies Models now.
