We all remember Corgi’s fabulous No 153 Bluebird pictured here (photo courtesy of Vectis). The model is of Donald Campbell's Bluebird-Proteus CN7, as used in his record attempts.

This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Donald Campbell’s successful Land Speed Record. The record run was on 17th July 1964 and look out for a full feature celebrating the 50th anniversary by Paul Lumsdon in the December issue of Diecast Collector.

Celebrating this and the 85th anniversary of Henry Seagrave’s record in Golden Arrow, the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, where the real CN7 has been resident for over 40 years, is running a special Land Speed Record display throughout the summer, so if you’re down near the south coast, be sure to make a visit.
