Vectis Auctions' forthcoming sales

On Wednesday 12^th September Vectis Auctions will be selling the Italian Matchbox Collection which features some rare and interesting models. Other sections in the auction include military and civilian figures, forts and castles and general toys. Below are just some Italian Matchbox highlights to whet your appetite!

Matchbox Regular Wheels No.5C London Routemaster Bus "Drink Peardrax" - red body, silver trim, knobbly grey plastic wheels with rounded axles - Mint (apart from a couple of very minor factory marks) in Good Plus scarce type C Lesney box - hard issue to find. Estimate: £300 - £400

Matchbox Regular Wheels No.11A ERF Petrol Tanker - rare green body, gold trim, metal wheels with crimped axles - Mint, superb example, in Near Mint type B1 Moko box - see photo. Estimate: £600 - £800

Matchbox Regular Wheels No.25C Bedford "BP" Petrol Tanker - yellow cab, green chassis, white tanker, silver trim, fine tread grey plastic wheels - Mint in Excellent Plus type E1 colour picture box - superb example of a hard to find issue. Estimate: £700 - £800

Matchbox Regular Wheels No.26B Foden Cement Mixer - orange, silver trim, dark grey plastic barrel, knobbly grey plastic wheels - Mint in Excellent Plus scarce type C Lesney box with "new model" to end flaps - see photo. Estimate: £500 - £600

Matchbox Regular Wheels No.46B Guy "Beales Bealesons" Removals Van - tan body, black base and plastic wheels - this promotional issue is Near Mint (extremely minor wear to decal) in Good Plus correct plain white carded box with "It's A Pleasure" label - see photo. Estimate: £400 - £500

The Swiss Collection Part IV also comes up for auction at Vectis on Thursday 13^th Sept from 10.30am. Items include tinplate, plastic, Hong Kong/French and unboxed Dinky, Corgi, Tekno, Solido, Mercury, Politoys, Marklin, Quiralu, CIJ, MInialuxe, Norev, Mebetoys and some other miscellaneous lots.

Dinky (Hong Kong) No.57/002 Corvair Monza - red body, black roof, cast spun hubs - Excellent Plus in Excellent carded detailed picture box (slight crushing to one end). Estimate: £80 - £100

French Dinky (Dinky Junior) No.106 Opel Kadett - yellow, silver trim - Mint in Near Mint carded picture box - superb example. Estimate: £500 - £700

Quiralu Jaguar XK140 - red, blue interior with cream tonneau, flat spun hubs with white tyres, black painted front and rear numberplates - Near Mint in Excellent Plus carded picture box (small pen marks to one end flap). Estimate: £70 - £90
