Model and Machinery Auctions held its inaugural sale at the end of September. The idea behind this new venture is to offer enthusiasts a mix of toys and models coupled with aspects of the real deal, namely sales literature, general transport ephemera and even full-size machines.

The first sale featured many lots consigned from a single owner collection. This vast collection includes more than 1,500 items of farm, construction and commercial vehicles, which will be spread across a number of sales.

There were some notable lots featured including rare pieces from Denzil Skinner, Crescent, Dinky and Raphael Lipkin. Specific examples included a Denzil Skinner 1/16 scale Vickers Vigor Tractor that realised more than £2,000 (with buyer’s premium).

A Dinky Toys Massey Harris pre-production colour sample was also a strong seller making £600. A couple of scarce Crescent models were also sold including a fine Ferguson Tractor (in red) and a crawler tractor (with figure) selling for £200 and £150 respectively.

The next sale is planned for Wednesday 14th December at the Springfields Exhibition Centre, Spalding, Lincolnshire.

PICTURED This Crescent Ferguson Tractor, produced as an exclusive item for Woolworths, sold for £200 at Model and Machinery Auctions’ premier sale on 30th September.
