Hornby GWR 61xx R2928
Built from a modified design of Churchward’s 3100, GWR 5101 Class ‘Large Prairie’ tank locomotives were used on suburban and local passenger services across the Great Western Railway system. Numbered 5108, this OO gauge model (R2928) is priced £69.99.
Farish ‘Teddy Bear’ Class 14
As part of its Blue Riband range, Graham Farish has released three Class 14 diesel-hydraulic locomotives in N gauge. Available in BR green with ‘wasp stripes’ (372-950), weathered BR green (372-951) and BR blue with ‘wasp stripes’ (372-952), they cost £64.45 each.
Bachmann Class 4MT 2-6-4T
Built between 1951-57, BR Standard Class 4MT Tank locomotives were originally allocated to all regions of British Railways – with the exception of the Western. This OO gauge model from Bachmann (32-359) is numbered 80053, comes in BR lined black with early emblem and costs £82.20 each.
Golden Age OO gauge A4s
Hand-made in brass with DCC sound, Golden Age Models has produced a range of A4 locomotives that carry a good selection of names and liveries. Carefully researched from a variety of sources, including the original works drawings; the OO gauge models pay attention to detail, featuring an opening smokebox door and a superb paint finish. Delivered in a presentation box, the locomotives cost £975 (plus VAT).
