Scania won an army of fans with its Highline sleeper cab range, and the R model is the largest of this successful trio.
It can be powered by a V8 or inline engine, and clever design ensures an almost flat cab floor. When coupled with the three-axle curtainside trailer unit, it’s a haulage force to be reckoned with.
European firm Van Dieren Maritime has relied on the Scania for some time, and WSI’s model replicates company cab unit BV-BB-20. With its vivid orange and blue livery acrosss the entire vehicle, it’s sure to enliven the collection of any commercial enthusiast.
The cab itself is a fine example of how to produce this type of model. A heavy diecast body ensures a quality feel. Like the real thing, it hinges forward to reveal a well-detailed V8 engine.
