EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK: CORGI'S NEW RELEASES

Collectors Gazette and Diecast Collector had an exclusive look at the brand new models Corgi will be releasing April to June 2012. Pictured below is just a handful of the new releases.

Buy the February issue of Collectors Gazette (out Friday 20th January) and the March issue of Diecast Collector (out Wednesday 1st January) for a first look at the new releases. There are new models joining all your favourite Corgi ranges - including Rail Legends, Aviation Archive, Mini Mania and Vanguards - in a variety of scales, from 1/43 to 1/200.

Jubilee
Joining the new Diamond Jubilee range, in celebration of HM The Queen’s sixty years as Britain’s ruling monarch, is this 3-piece Days Gone set (ref: DJ1003). Available in April, it features a Bull Nose Van, a Model T and a horse-drawn bus.

Hauliers of Renown
A Volvo FH (Face Lift) Feldbinder in the livery of Simon Gibson also joins the range (ref: CC14035). It is due out in April and its features include a low light bar, aerials and a front bumper bar. The full-size vehicle, a top of the range tractor unit with a 13 litre engine, has some very impressive cockpit extras including a fridge and coffee machine.

Vanguards
LEFT Available in June, this MGB White Gold 50th Anniversary Model (ref: VA13000) also launches Corgi’s new ‘rubber bumper’ tooling. The MGB was launched in September 1962 and was initially planned to have a product life of 10 years. RIGHT This Audi quattro 20 Valve Mk2 will join the Vanguards range (ref: VA12900). Available in June, it is in Nordic Blue Metallic. The Quattro was launched in 1980 and remained available for 11 years. The 20-valve was the fastest and most potent version of the car.

Original Omnibus
This Caetano Levante National Express is working route 450 to Mansfield via Nottingham. It is a dual destination and is due out in April (ref: OM46403A/B).

Aviation Archive
Joining the range is a 1/72 scale Westland Wessex Westland Wessex HU5 XT480 847 NAS Coded X-Q Bluff Cove, Falklands 1982 (ref: AA37608). It will be available in April. The model has been produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Falklands.

 

 

 
 

 

 

TV, Films & Events
Joining the new TV, Films & Events range is this ‘Ashes to Ashes’ set, which features an Audi quattro and a Ford Granada 2.8i Mk 2 in Police livery (ref: CC02799). Available in April, the 1/43 scale set is modelled on the popular BBC drama series. The Audi quattro is available separately, ref: CC02701, which will also be available in April.
