The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee marks 60 years since her accession in 1952. To celebrate this special occasion a number of manufacturers have released their own Diamond Jubilee collectables, some of which have previously been reviewed in Collectors Gazette while others are brand new to us.

Hornby - pictured top right
‘The Diamond Jubilee’ train set
Price: TBC. Available in June
Hornby’s offering, this OO gauge train set, is aptly named to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. The ‘Princess Elizabeth’ locomotive with gold effect metal components certainly looks the part when pulling the three LMS coaches round the oval of track.

Jersey Post
Souvenir Miniature Sheet
Price: £4. Available now
The Jersey Post has released a number of sets to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee, including its Limited Edition Souvenir Miniature Sheet, which has since sold out. Guernsey Post
first day cover
Price: £4.29. Available now
Guernsey Post has released a number of commemorative stamps but its First Day Cover caught our eye, priced at £4.29. The stamps are affixed to an unaddressed, specially designed envelope and are cancelled with a special pictorial First Day cancellation.

The Royal Mail

Hermann Spielwaren
Diamond Jubilee bear

Herman Spielwaren’s bear is created from white mohair and filled with wood shavings to give it a regal look and traditional feel. It wears a velvet cape along with a crown and necklace, which contains 60 Swarvoski crystals. The Royal coat of arms is embroided on its right footpad.

Dean’s
Diamond Jubilee bear
Price: £99. Available now
Dean’s bear is a highly limited edition of just 60 pieces. Made from a white ratinee mohair with beige suedette pads, it has a purple satin ribbon for its sash and a pendant and head circlet that have been specially created for it by Linsey Miller.

Merrythought
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee bear

Oxford Diecast - pictured right
Bullnose Vans
Price: £3.95 and £4.95. Available now
Joining Oxford Diecast’s previously released 1/76 scale The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Bullnose Morris is its big brother, a larger Bullnose that isn’t to any specific scale. The Bullnose is a typically British vehicle and Oxford’s model looks suitably majestic. The decals are impressive and there is also a nod to interior detail.

Corgi
3-piece ‘Days Gone’ set
Price: £29.99. Available now
Corgi’s limited edition set features a Bullnose Van, a Ford Model T and a horse-drawn bus (Ref No DJ1003). Each model sports Corgi’s Diamond Jubilee commemorative livery. The horse-drawn bus is very unusual and particularly impressive.

Diamond Jubilee Routemaster
Price: £9.99. Available now
In 1/64 scale is Corgi’s Diamond Jubilee Routemaster Bus (Ref No CC82321). It sports Corgi’s Diamond Jubilee commemorative livery plus a very fetching grey Union Jack. An iconic London vehicle, the Routemaster is a worthy vehicle to be modelled to celebrate this special occasion, in our opinion.

Diamond Jubilee Classic Mini
Price: £9.99. Available now
The Mini, launched in 1959 by the British Motor Corporation, is another iconic British vehicle. Corgi’s model, Ref No CC82296, comes in 1/36 scale and sports both Corgi’s Diamond Jubilee commemorative livery and a grey Union Jack.
