David Wright and Ray Strutt successfully launched their brand new book, A History of White Metal Transport Modelling: A Who’s Who in the Industry, at the latest Sandown Toy Fair on 19th November.

Two years in the making, the 280-page book was very well received by collectors attending the event, with some appreciative comments on the quality and first class content. “It’s so nice to put faces to names at last,” commented one visitor. “I’ve been collecting white metal models for many years and what I like about this book is that it encompasses all aspects of the hobby, not just the models but the people behind the industry too.”

Event organisers, Barry Potter and son Ellis, joined David, Ray and their wives for champagne and a toast to the launch of the book, a well earned celebration indeed!

Barry and Ellis were both very pleased with the attendance at Sandown, now in its 25th year. “We always try to add something a little different to our fairs at Sandown,” said Ellis. “This year we included the E-Type display as an extra bonus and we were delighted to help David and Ray launch their fantastic new book. We think it’s the extra attractions that makes our events more memorable, and our February fair will be featuring some amazing full size speed record vehicles as well as those produced in miniature.”
