Armourer March 2010 issue

The March/April edition of the Armourer has many fascinating and informative articles for militaria collectors. Imperial German field caps in all their variety are covered by Lt. Col. Scott A. Porter’s in-depth article that identifies the colour codes for each unit.

Jamie Cross looks at membership badges of the British Union of Fascists and Terry Gander examines a training device for gunners. Jon Mills continues his series on the wartime Civil Defence services by focusing on the Ambulance Service, while Ray Westlake writes on the Welsh Horse Yeomanry as part of his series on the Territorial Force 1908-20.

“In my collection” has a something for ordnance collectors as Tim Heath tells us about the Russian Mig fighter shell he picked up at a car boot sale. As well as full-size and miniature bayonets by Roger Evans, there is also a look at the beautifully crafted miniature edged weapons of the Third Reich by Andrew Gates.

What the law-abiding citizens of 1920s USA to protect their property - the Ithaca Auto and Burglar Gun - is described in a fascinating article by Robert G. Segel.

All this and much more is in the latest edition, and remember that the Amourer is the best place to look for militaria fair and auction dates in the UK and Europe – check out the "Under the Hammer" pages for military auction previews.
