British Antarctic Territory Terra Nova Silver Coin

The British Antarctic Territory has released a third commemorative coin which remembers the pioneering scientific work of Captain Scott and his men during their ill-fated expedition and which still inspires British scientists to deliver world-class scientific work in Antarctica. The moving new coin features an image of Captain Scott's ship the Terra Nova with explorers working and penguins in the foreground.

The Kings and Queens series has covered six centuries of the rule of one of the world's oldest monarchies, beginning with the reign of Henry IV in the fourteenth century when England still claimed to rule France, through some of the best known events in British history, such as the rule of Henry VIII, and onto the rule of Britain's longest ruling monarch, Queen Victoria.
The series began in 2008 and has concluded in the year of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee which will be marked by events across the country, including a 1,000 boat pagent on the River Thames.
The House of Windsor stamps feature five monarchs, including Edward VIII, a king who was never crowned and who bought about a constitutional crisis when he gave up the throne to marry divorcee Wallis Simpson.
