Video: Bletchley Park Post Office reopens
Stamp & Coin Mart
Coinciding with a major Forties weekend, the ceremony saw Terry Mitchell of Chapman and Mitchell Covers describe the process of refreshing the historic building before Matt Hill of Stamp & Coin Mart explained how collecting covers and stamps could reflect history, and Michael Sefi described his interest in the project and cut the ribbon to officially open the attraction.
The event was filmed for Stamp & Coin Mart Television (see video above) and by the BBC, for both television and radio broadcasts.
The small post office at Bletchley Park, the home of the code breakers during World War Two, has been refreshed providing visitors with the chance to see how a wartime post office would have looked. Home to Chapman and Mitchell Covers, the post office also features an extensive gallery of first day covers issued over the years, while visitors can purchase the latest covers.
